I worked at Victoria Secret during the semi-annual sale, thinking 'Hey this will be great!" Well little did I know that in order to get more hours you have to sell more of those Angel Accounts. SO basically if can't find anyone to sucker into the card or the people you ask don't qualify, you don't get hours.
Well that's what happened to me! Everyone I asked did not qualify due to the credit checks they run on the person when they are visiting the store. So No Angel Accounts, no hours. Instead having the nerve to tell me they didn't think I would work out as a sales associate they just took my name off the list of people for hours!!!!
Seriously who wants to sell and Angel Account when they don't get commission and they are getting minimum wage??? Not me!! Anyways they never called me and I eventually got my last check with them in the mail - 3 months after they took my name off the list!!!

I worked for VS some time ago (1996) and it was a similar situation. I HATED the people I worked for. Only superficial bitches need apply. I actually had a manager who called herself "Queenie." It was on her nametag.
I also had the "joy" of working at VS...for about 40 minutes. The manager on duty for my first day was so rude to me that I quit on the spot. I'm glad I quit because I would never have gotten hours. There's no way I would browbeat someone into getting a credit card just so I can get a cheap, dollar-store prize from the manager's "credit" prize bag.
I'm actually about to go to work and google'd around for VS rants, and I hate this place so much, it had once reduced me to tears. The managers are SERIOUSLY confused about being a boss versus being a friend, so much so that we hardly get anything done, and have to stay overtime. ALSO! They didn't give me the money I deserved: I worked for 2 weeks, expected the appropriate 40 hour paycheck, and I got a measly $38.97... I'm tired of their incompetence, and I'm so ready to get fired, I don't care anymore.
