Tony Smells

My co-worker, I'll call him Tony, is one of the most unbeilviably smelly people on the planet. Hygenie is one of the issues. (I dread the moments when Tony has to bring me a file, and hand it over to me. I have to hold my breath when he lifts his arm to hand me the file, because otherwise, I really do think that I would puke. It's that putrid.

I have talked to our supervisor about this, and she's just doesn't have the balls to say anything to him. We don't deal with the public really in our office, so she feels that it isn't that big of an issue.

Tony also favors gyros. So, on top of the body odor, you have the gyro smell too. If you dare to walk by his cubicle, he smells like onions and meat. I've developed a path to avoid have to do that.

A few of us our considering writing a letter and sticking it in his mailbox in complaint about the stench. We are crossing our fingers that this will work. Has anyone else ever had to deal with this?

Your boss is a pussy.
I've had to deal with this problem more than once.
The first time it was hard, after that...it's just something that has to be done. How does one person get to control the whole environment with everyone having to tip toe around their feelings without considering everyone elses?

Your Boss needs to be kicked up the arse.

I worked beside a guy for 8 years that would chew raw garlic or onions instead of gum. There was an unwritten rule that you never talk to him for at least an hour after lunch ,just so that he would not spit food particles on you.Plant personal had him in for numerous personal hygiene lectures. To top it all off he never brushed his teeth cause he could go to a dentist once a year and get them cleaned for free.Thank god for dental plans

I have delt with stank for years! in this situation #1 yes this is a sensitive situation, most stinky ppl don't even realize they stink, because they are so used to the smell.
#2 your boss is the one responsible for clearing the air in this one.. all she needs to do is take him in her office and explain to him that his odor is affecting the work environment, and as long as she is nice his feelings won't be hurt too much, I've had co-workers sent home to bathe belive it or not because they stink so bad and i just couldn't take it and neither do you!
if your boss still won't break the news to him it's up to you, all you have to do is have your co-workers chip in and buy a stick of deoderant (sp) and a bar of soap and secretly leave it on his desk... put a bow on it to be nice!

Uh, I would leave a letter from the soap and deoderant fairy kindly explaining that he is marinating in gyro juice and not everyone likes the smell of his essence.
