I work with a woman that smells so bad that people have floor fans to blow the air AWAY from them.
She is of an ethic culture that considers it wrong to bath on regular basis or use products to prevent odor. Man oh man it's enough to make a girls eyes water.
I work in the IT area so have had to visit this user and I have to do my job in short time frames because I would spew my insides if I stayed too long. Her body odor has been addreseds and every time it happens she screams discrimination. SO WHAT YA DO?????
She's currently on leave and the fans have stopped (for now).

Your boss needs to deal with that along with disciplinary warnings.

It's common courtesy.

My coworkers tell me I smell like I used my clothes for toilet paper and my breathis atrocious.Im depressed and dont care and I seldom bathe and dont even own a toothbrush.I have a lot of skin tags and I have no desire to have them removed even though some of them look like gummy bears.Maybe you could hook me up with this woman.Management is always wrong and your just jealous!

Listen. I so believe this, but it works both ways.
Even clean people with extreme perfume/cologne are obnoxious.
You know they are clean. But their perfume brings tears even worse than any stench could possibly bring.

It's been over 100 degrees since about 2 months ago.
We all sweat. I basin bathe at lunch time; I can't be dry if it's 105 outside, and I've been there at lunch time and 100 percent humidity.
Still...a little company soap and water plus a few brown towel papers will get you cleaner than what this original post described.
I have an idea; what he/she/they smell may NOT be body odor (based on ETHNICITY)but perhaps the use of spices.
I am black; but I helped raise a few dozen ethnic children not black.
To me personally, some white people smell bad...always have.
It's called nature.
But, what I've noticed is that people who use heavy spices exude that spice; when you drink alcohol, that is what you sweat out.
And you BLOW alcohol. Any one can smell it.
I'd be more concerned about that, than a stinky little co worker.
Not to say that I haven't left a bar of soap on someone's desk in my past 32 years of working....

Human Resources should be the one to approach this individual due to the nature of your complaint. The main reason HR should be involved is to explain the definition of discrimination. While they are at it, look up hostile work environment as well. This is what is happening here, a hostile work environment. Shame on your HR and Upper Management for allowing one employee to make the working days of their other employees foul.
Well here is my 2 cents on this.If the dudes and ladies that have foulness used Johnson Products,they would smell and feel better.

I don't understand why a person would not at least shower,or brush their teeth??? They deserve to be confronted by all the people that had been exposed to their B.O. and bad breath day in and day out. The funny thing with the situation Im exposed, the person pretends to take a shower, and brush too! And every time they get out of the bathroom, their hair is wet, but still stinks & teeth are greener than ever...

In the US Army, days past, my friends used to tell me about what would happen when someone refused to bathe: a forced WIREBRUSHED bathing by an entire bunkhouse of army recruits.

what you really need to do is bring in a bag of menure and spread some in the corners under her desk....lol maybe then she'll "clean up her act!"
or do what i do with my stank'in co-workers, every time i have to be around them i purposly bring a tissue and squirt it with body spray/perfum and put it to my nose while speaking with them and keep a sour look on my face and every time i have to breath walk a few steps away to take in fresh air!!
There's a stinky one where I work, too. Problem is, he's already been called into a meeting about it but denies that he stinks. I think his problem is that he wears his clothes more than once before washing them, and he's a heavy sweater. We live in the Deep South. The smell reminds me of when wet towels have been neglected in the hamper for too long, only his smell is much stronger, mixed in with some sort of toe-cheese tang. It's foul. We all hope he moves on to another job very soon! Otherwise, the rest of us will spend the rest of our days either nauseated or having allergic reaction symptoms from the stench.
