Thank You For Making My Life So Miserable

I thought it was impossible to find a job I liked, but last Fall I found it. I worked at a fun, colorful candy store in New York City where the employees, management and co-workers where amazing.

Then, reality check!

The nice, gay, fabulous, magnificent general manager quit and ran as fast as his gold sneakers could take him. I worried, but I never thought it would be this bad.

The owner, a socialite, Hamptonite, fabulously fashionable being has no clue of what is going on under her nose. People stealing, showing up late, taking advantage of her niceness. Here is to Frank & Jan, the most irresponsible and non-business savvy people in the world. I have an MBA Frank! Dont try to explain to me what a P&L is! I can teach you that.

Do I sound bitter? I know! These 2 people believe that the world begins and ends with a 21 year old store manager named Zhariff. Real name. This guy is still a college student, no training in the real world and he believes that he is God's gift to women. His hormones are raging. I dont think there is a girl in that store that he hasn't slept with yet. And the funny thing is that he dates them, promotes them, and then, of course, fires them.

Now, here is where it affects me. I used to work with a team of 4 people. Myself, the VP, the blonde NY bimbo, and the aggressive italian. I love them all, but when my job gets harder because you are not doing yours, then we have problems.

This blonde Bimbo from hell has money. Tons of it. Why is she working at this store you might ask? She is very good friends with Miss I Have No Clue owner. This Blonde Bimbo is the one that has caused me all my pain. No follow through process, but there is always time for a pedicure or to leave early to go to a party in East Hampton. Who's left to do her work? I am! GOD DAMN IT WOMAN! PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL THE WSJ BACK!!! I cant handle it.

The Party Person is the aggressive italian. Wow! What a way to speak to customers. I've never seen anyone slam the phone on a mom who only wants to know where her invitations are. Chill! Take a chill pill or just go and get laid. There is no reason for it.

The VP was my last hope. She had envisioned this department and gave birth to it. She hired me, trained me and brain washed me to believe in the products. I still believe it's a great concept, but I have to remember it's just candy! And just like that she quit. Why? Because this company sucks! No, wait, management in this company sucks!

It's really sad because it's a great place, but not to work in.

Bye DCB! It has been horrible.

Isn't it sad when it's not the job that sucks, but the people?
