She's Thankful For What She's Got

|

I love my job, mainly because I have one. I don't do anything special, I'm a purchasing assistant for a vacuum cleaner supply distributor. My hours are good, my office is nice, my boss is great. Where else can you work in an office position and wear sweats when its cold or you don't feel good? The owner has a house across the country and spends at least 3 months out of the year there. It's great!! That's why I love my job- nothing fancy, and no major pressure, unless you really screw something up.

It's All About The Attitude

|

I work for a new progressive real estate business in the NJ/NY/CT area as an NBC (New Business Consultant aka glorified receptionist from our 1-800 #). They are extremely flexible and understanding to my schedule as I am out quite often to treatment & illness of my Crohn's disease.

Let's put it this way, I start every day with a smile on my face and even when I have a bad day I still look forward to the next day. Besides all of that, the people I work with are energetic and happy to be there too.

I love my job.

I'm A Slacking Clockwatcher

|

I 'clockwatch' from 9AM-6PM while surfing the Net surrounded by my unsuspecting 'Cube Family'. Email is my weapon of choice to hound vendors into a sales submission. I love my job.

Ah Yes, If Only Everyone Could Work In The Caribbean

|

I really have one of the most fantastic jobs out there! In the summers, I work as a sailing instructor at a posh all-inclusive resort and yacht club in the Caribbean (The British Virgin Islands, to be exact). After sailing at the national level for a few years, I retired when I was sixteen and went on to teach sailing. When I was eighteen, I was offered a job to coach in the tropics. I didn't have to be asked twice!

A regular day at my summer job involves waking up around 8, donning a bikini and shorts, and walking to the resort/yacht club's giant breakfast buffet, complete with an omelet chef. Afterwards, I walk five minutes along the white sand to the sailing center, where I rig the boats and open up the building. Throughout the day, I have scheduled classes that tourists sign up for, and there is also a "free sailing" period where anyone can show up. If no one shows up, me and the other instructors lie by the palm trees and tan. If it ever gets too hot, we simply go for a swim! I am paid a decent wage per hour, I have all my room and board provided, and I am often given very generous tips from tourists. Simply put, it is the best job ever.

My Job Turned Me Into A Slacker

|

Let me start out by saying I'm not usually a slacker, I have worked hard for every company I ever worked for. I went on several interviews with a major media company, the interviewer was an idiot, who from the sound of it, was a sacred cow within the company but had failed at every job he had. He was now the head of a low-priority department. Eventually, I was offered a job that basically no one wanted in sales for the worst division in the company (the job had had three occupants in three years). The supervisor was on the other side of the country, and he was a complete incompetent. I was afraid of being unemployed and thought that I could change jobs eventually. I found out that this was a complete dead-end division and laughing stock of the company.

I basically made up my mind to see how long I could work, without actually working until they caught on. (I looked for a better job the whole time, eventually finding a good position elsewhere) I found my predecessors files and basically turned in all of his sales call reports as my own for a good 8 months! I watched porn, surfed the net, traveled all over the US visiting friends while staying in nice hotels and collecting serious frequent flier miles. In December I went AWOL for a month and no one noticed! I finally got laid off, but not without a great severance package and outplacement assistance! Best job I ever had!
